8-WEEK SERIES ON THE BASICS OF ASHTANGA YOGA*

THE NEXT 8-WEEK SERIES WILL BEGIN AGAIN MONDAY, DECEMBER 1ST. IT WILL BE OFFERED ON MONDAYS AT 9:30AM (REGISTRATION ONLY) TUESDAY EVENINGS AT 7:15PM, WEDNESDAY EVENINGS AT 7:15PM, THURSDAY MORNINGS AT 9:30AM (REGISTRATION ONLY) AND SUNDAYS AT NOON. CLASSES ARE ABOUT ONE HOUR. Click here to register. The 8-week basic series is the most effective way we know of to introduce people to Ashtanga, vinyasa flow and power yoga.
This series is meant to make new students feel comfortable, so if you don't have any yoga experience you will be FINE! The new poses each week will be described in depth with modifications and demonstrations. If you have always wanted to start yoga, this is a great way to do it. It works best when students commit to 2-3 classes per week-that way they get stronger, open faster and have the opportunity to see, hear, and practice what they are learning more than once a week. The poses of Ashtanga yoga are meant to be memorized and practiced consistently to achieve a healthier, stronger, disease-free body and mind. This 8-week series is a manageable way in which to learn, practice, and eventually memorize most of the first series of Ashtanga yoga. Over the 8-week course, the practitioner will build strength and flexibility, as well as develop an understanding of what yoga is beyond the physical practice. Additionally, this is a GREAT way build a foundation for power and vinyasa flow yoga, as many of the postures covered in this series are also in vinyasa flow and power classes. STUDENTS NEED TO PRE-REGISTER, ESPECIALLY FOR THE MONDAY MORNING CLASS, AS SPACE IS LIMITED- PLEASE INDICATE INTEREST BY SENDING IN THE FILLED OUT FORM OR EMAIL IT FROM THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE COME TO THE STUDIO A FEW MINUTES BEFORE YOUR FIRST CLASS WITH A FILLED OUT REGISTRATION FORM AND PAYMENT READY. CASH OR CHECK ARE APPRECIATED, BUT WE ALSO ACCEPT MC AND VISA.
Unlike the Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow and power classes in which the focus is to keep moving with the breath, these classes often pause so that the teacher can break down postures and explain them in more depth.
Students may drop in each week, as long as they are aware of what was covered the previous week. We will not backtrack in this series. If you can not join the series at the beginning, call or email the studio to see if you can drop in, join the next series or schedule a private to catch up.
Cost for all 8 weeks: $105 to attend 1 class per week, $158 to attend two classes per week and $195 to attend all three sessions each week. SERIES CLASS CARDS CAN ONLY BE USED AT SERIES CLASSES Classes are approximately one hour long. The next series will begin MONDAY, DEC. 1ST, and will be offered at the same times/dates.
